STALLS, FAMILY & CHILDREN

There will be lots of outdoor processions and activities, with opportunities for visitors to sample the wealth of stalls providing everything from global food to fine clothing, handmade crafts to information about local communities and organisations, all delivered with a very genuine smile.

The Windrush Zone

The Stephen Lawrence Stage, positioned at the top of this zone, is curated by our partner Exeter College. This stage isn’t just for students and youth; it’s a platform for local artists to share their music with everyone.
Newtown Primary School has been making friendship bracelets as a random act of kindness to share with other children and adults in our community.
Scrapstore and Blue Slide offer fun to children and families with lots of activities to enjoy.
Exeter City Football Trust and Exeter City in the Community present information about football in the community and fun activities for the whole family to enjoy.
In the play area Exeter Phoenix has information about art, Cinema Studio 74 and independent cinema, many art projects and art exhibitions.
Exeter Community Alliance is the Climate Hub including the Extinction Rebellion Human Project will be displaying information about the environment, printing T-shirts and painting – all on the theme of environmental justice.
Exeter Seed Bank offers activities for Respect Festival 2026 including a seedling swap, face painting and craft activity.
The Global Centre will be working with schools and displaying their archives of research they have collected by working with different communities.
Fairtrade showcase their products, supporting the movement and offering an authentic taste of diverse fair trade items.
RAMM employees dressed up as swans will float in between areas, and will display information at Exeter Phoenix’s stall.
Libraries Unlimited will display information about libraries in Devon
Join Yoga is Therapy with Eva for healing and stress relieving yoga sessions.
Love from Syria brings their culture through interactive activities with a of Levant.
Book-Cycle is a UK volunteer-run charity providing free books and educational resources to empower children globally. Their space offers relaxation, book browsing, and diverse storytelling.

DIVERSITY ZONE

The Devon County Council Communities Team present information about refugees resettlement; the support that they provide to different communities in Devon and recruiting volunteers to help teach English to refugees.
The Devon Ukraine Association, regardless of the war, will be displaying information and activities for everyone to enjoy.
Visit lots of stalls from around the world displaying their culture and sharing their taste of food including Refugees Support Devon. Ethiopian Link, Philippines Community and the Egyptian Association will display their ancient heritage in style alongside their cuisine. The colourful Bulgarian Community will share their culture and on their stall including workshops to enjoy. There’s presence from South India from the Exeter Kerala Association. The Nigerian Community in Exeter display information about their activities in Exeter and share the taste of Nigeria. Multilingua Devon displays and explains how Devon has been shaped culturally, did you know there are more than 150 languages being used in Devon? Garland Support will present their work and run workshops. Palestinian stalls will be displaying information sharing the taste of the Holy Land. The Kurdish Community stall presents their culture exhibiting artefacts from their homeland. Connect Romanian (Exeter and Devon) offers interactive activities to help visitors learn about the local Romanian community. Afghan Community Devon will display their embroidery. Join Devon Faith and Belief to read poems for World Peace from different faiths and beliefs. Learn more about Inclusive Exeter CIC’s projects connecting communities and the Afghan Community in Exeter cultures through interactive traditional activities. Hongkongers in Devon seek to gauge local interest through various Hong Kong-inspired activities at the festival.
Join a retirement celebration on Saturday for an NHS nurse with 48 years of service, hosted by her family at the festival to honor her dedication.
Throughout Sunday, Wren Music will host an adaptable “have-a-go” workshop series with acoustic instruments to make an instant band, and a pop up choir to sing songs.

Mandela Stage Main Zone

Trading stalls share their unique products from Powerful Drums to a variety of clothing and handmade jewellery produced on display at very affordable prices.
Hikmat Devon, consisting of multicultural groups from around Devon display their heritage.
BRC PPIE Exeter University: National Institute of Health, Care Research, Biomedical Research Centre and Clinical Research Facility, University of Exeter will discuss university and hospital research with the public, explaining how you can get involved.
Wellbeing Exeter, a collaborative partnership improving community health, will introduce their local engagement and share tips for better living.
South West Unison and Devon County Council Branch, one of our sponsors who have been involved with Exeter Respect since our inception 27 years ago, it all started with this branch! They will highlight and display information about diversity and the rights of workers.
Thompsons Solicitors, the largest trade union law from who work closely with all trade unions including Unison.
Exeter Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament, Exeter Peace Shop will have a sale of ethical and fair-trade goods, fundraising for Exeter CND.
Expect campaigners from many different charities, organisations displaying information about their activities and services including GreenPeace, Devon Air Ambulance and Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service.
St.Sidwell’s Community Café will bring homemade pastries and bread from their bakery.
Citizen Advice Exeter will welcome all to talk to them and explain how you can obtain legal consultation and support.
Many other campaigners such as Woodland Trust, Green Peace, South West Wild Life, Exeter Amnesty International campaigning for human rights globally.
Eddystone Trust will provide HIV information, Fostering Torbay will raise adoption awareness, and Radio Mir, Italy, will podcast the festival for international audiences.

Community Area

Located within the Community Area, the Anil Stage features a diverse array of performances representing a wide range of cultural backgrounds.
Exeter Quakers will display information about their work in the community.
Exeter Samaritans provides information about joining their community support service.
Exeter Ethiopian Link will share Ethiopian coffee and information about their charitable work.
Force Cancer Charity, West Bank, Shared Lives and Devon Recovery have adjacent placements to promote their services to the public.
Normal Magic has activities for the whole family to enjoy.
Devon Intergroup, Together Devon, Exeter Adults Children A&D and Step One are key support organizations who will be displaying alongside other services and political parties.

Due to the present economic climate, to sustain the festival there’s an entrance fee of £2 for each day, under 16s are free.
