Soundwaves
Soundwaves is a specialist music service that works with neurologically diverse people to explore and create music in a fun and social environment. They are an independent charity and will perform their songs and music at this year’s Respect Festival, all created by its members
Countess Wear Community Choir
The Countess Wear Choir began with a spark of inspiration at the 2023 Coronation street party outside the much-loved Tally Ho pub in Countess Wear. Now nearly three years old, they are a welcoming community of around 40 male and female singers who love coming together to create rich harmonies, share friendship, and sing a joyful, varied repertoire from ballads and rock to modern favourites
Hikmat Devon Chinese Group
A Chinese Community Dance Group bringing the tradition of China to Exeter, dynamic and vibrant colourful with a unique touch of Chinese cultural flavour.
Ilaria Belly Dance
Ilaria Belly Dance based in Exeter and Taunton will bring a mixture of classical and folkloric styles on the Respect Festival’s stage. They can’t wait to see you all and dance together!
Newtown Roots Band
A community band that makes a big joyous sound playing a variety of folk tunes from around the world with exciting arrangements, energy and fun. All acoustic instruments/all abilities/all ages play in this friendly group.
Swing Exe
A dance community who will be displaying a variety of dance styles from the 1920s, 30s and 40s, with a focus on the Lindy Hop, Charleston and Soho Jazz.
Filipino Community Association and Friends
Exeter’s vibrant and diverse Filipino community will showcase its rich cultural heritage. The event will feature the traditional Tinikling dance, talented singers, and children’s dance performances.
Karina Gracia Dance
Karina & students will perform flamenco dance, accompanied by live guitar from David Nash. Children from Karina’s dance clubs at two Devon primary schools will also be performing.
A. K-pop dance by EXEstar
Ingrid, Sonia, Suhana, Jeeva & Tamila will perform to Magnetic-illit. They moved to the UK with their parents a few years ago and attend local schools/university. They recently performed for Exeter’s Hong Kong Community at multiple events, and at Exeter Phoenix, receiving recognition from the Lord Mayor.
Ukrainian Singers of Plymouth
A Ukrainian choir that has been singing together for three years, sharing the traditions of Ukrainian heritage in the United Kingdom. They have performed in venues across the country-raising awareness, supporting Ukrainian people and sharing the spirit of their homeland.
Multicultural Choir
This is a truly multicultural choir, with choir members from Afghanistan, China, India, Hong Kong, Turkey, Syria, Ukraine, and other countries. While this group is still relatively new, they are all really starting to find their rhythm, the volume and strength of their song increases every week.

Devon Faith and Belief Forum: Universal Peace Prayers
This book of Peace Prayers was first presented at an historic event on 12th November 2016 at the United Reformed Church, Southernhay, Exeter. Received by Devon Schools, Colleges, Universities, Places of Worship, NHS Hospitals and Hospices around the UK, it also reached other parts of the world including India, America, Canada, Africa and Singapore. It represents a milestone in the way people of different faiths and beliefs can come together as fellow citizens of Planet Earth.
The Deaf Community Choir
Expect beautiful singing, dancing and signing from this group of incredible young people. An inspiring and uplifting performance, celebrating the deaf community.

Kurdish traditional dance played in a group who perform at weddings , festivals and even as an act of resistance against their oppressors.
Sing and Sign Jukebox Choir
Sing and Sign Jukebox Choir are a friendly inclusive choir, made up of individuals from the learning disabled community, their parents, carers, enablers and professionals. They make a beautiful sound, and have a lively set of well-loved iconic pop songs, all set to Makaton signs. They love to get the audience up on their feet signing, singing and dancing along.
Global Harmony Choir
Global Harmony, mixed community choir based at Exeter Phoenix will sing songs of celebration and protest from around the world in glorious harmony . From Africa, the Middle East or pop favourites the choir bring an eclectic and diverse repertoire to the stage.
Majidah Tribal Belly Dance
Whirling skirts, bright colours, lots of jewellery, flying tassels. This is the tribal dance troupe Majidah, a group of dancers communicating and interacting through their dance resulting in a powerful dance of great energy and vibrancy.
Acoustic Noise Collective
Acoustic Noise Collective is a ukulele group based in Exeter with players of all abilities working hard to create a friendly and inclusive atmosphere in which everyone feels they can participate. Expect well-loved, classic pop and rock songs from across the past five decades.
