STALLS, FAMILY & CHILDREN

There will be lots of outdoor processions and activities, with opportunities for visitors to sample the wealth of stalls providing everything from global food to fine clothing, handmade crafts to information about local communities and organisations, all delivered with a very genuine smile.

The Windrush Zone

Toy Library presents activities for the whole family, including spinning plates and poi activities, soft toy tombola, and preloved toys and books stalls. Newtown Primary School have made friendship bracelets as a random act of kindness to share with other children and adults in our community. Their vision of achieving excellence together, through community, belonging and aspiration celebrates our diverse community at Newtown.
Scrapstore and Blue Slide offer fun to children and families with lots of activities to enjoy.
Exeter City Football Trust and Exeter City in the Community present information about football in the community and fun activities for the whole family to enjoy.
Exeter Community Initiative will showcase their work alongside people, families and communities to build connections, develop capacity, improve wellbeing and support each other.
Wellbeing Project will display information and explain their engagement in our community on how to aim for better health.
Exeter Community Alliance includes the Climate Hub and Extinction Rebellion Human Project will display information about the environment, printing T-shirts and painting – all on the theme of Environmental Justice.
The Global Centre will be working with schools and displaying their archives of research they have collected by working with different communities.
Fairtrade showcase their products, supporting the movement and offering an authentic taste of diverse fair trade items.
Afghan Community Exeter will display a range of traditional activities.
RAMM employees dressed up as swans will float in between areas, and will display information at Exeter Phoenix’s stall.
Book-Cycle is a UK volunteer-run charity providing free books and educational resources to empower children globally. Their space offers relaxation, book browsing, and diverse storytelling.

Anil Lee Cultural Area

The Anli Lee Open Mic presents talented community artists and musicians in addition to dance and reading poetry, spoken word and acoustic music. There will be slots available, just come and book your slot to perform.
The Devon County Council Communities Team present information about refugees resettlement; the support that they provide to different communities in Devon and recruiting volunteers to help teach English to refugees.
The Devon Ukraine Association, regardless of the war, will be displaying information and activities for everyone to enjoy.
Visit lots of stalls from around the world displaying their culture and sharing their taste of food, including Refugee Support Devon; Ethiopian Link; Philippines Community and the Egyptian Association who will display their ancient heritage in style alongside their cuisine. The colourful Bulgarian Community will share their culture and on their stall including workshops, and there will be a South India presence from the state of Kerala. The Nigerian Community in Exeter display information about their activities in Exeter and share the taste of Nigeria. Multilingua Devon will display and explain how Devon has been shaped culturally, did you know there are more than 150 languages being used in Devon? Garland Support will present their work and run workshops. Palestinian and Syrian stalls will display information sharing the taste of the Holy Land. The Kurdish Community stall will be rich with Tehri culture exhibiting artefacts from their homeland.

Mandela Stage – Main Area

Trading stalls share their unique products from Powerful Drums to a variety of clothing and handmade jewellery produced on display at very affordable prices. Hikmat Devon, consisting of multicultural groups from around Devon display their heritage.
BRC PPIE Exeter University: National Institute of Health, Care Research (NIHR), Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) and Clinical Research Facility (CRF), University of Exeter will talk with members of the public about research at the university & hospital and how they can become involved.
South West Unison and Devon County Council Branch, one of our sponsors who have been involved with Exeter Respect since our inception 27 years ago, it all started with this branch! They will highlight and display information about diversity and the rights of workers.
St.Sidwell’s Community Café will bring homemade pastries and bread from their bakery.
There are charities including Citizen Advice Exeter who welcome everyone to talk to them and explain how you can obtain legal consultation and support.
Expect campaigners from many different charities, organisations displaying information about their activities and services including GreenPeace, Devon Air Ambulance and Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service. There are lots of delicious foods to sample and taste, and Bar Nova will be serving coffee, tea and non-alcoholic cocktails.

Community Area

The Community Stage hosts a variety of performances from different cultural backgrounds.
The Exeter Quakers will display information about their work in the community. Devon Rape Crisis and Sexual Abuse Service will explain the vital support they provide to communities, particularly women. Exeter Samaritans provides information about joining their community support service. Force Cancer Charity, West Bank, Shared Lives and Devon Recovery have adjacent placements to promote their services to the public. Normal Magic has activities for the whole family to enjoy. Devon Intergroup (DCIG), Together Devon, Exeter Adults Children A&D and Step One are key support organizations who will be displaying alongside other services and political parties.

Due to the present economic climate, to sustain the festival there’s an entrance fee of £2 for each day, under 16s are free.
