Paradise, in this case, is a Mediterranean fishing village in Israel, one of the few Palestinian villages left intact after the 1948 war. The director goes back to investigate the secrets of her village, its past history and the role of its women. Her quest leads her to Mrs Suaad George, a mythical bad girl from the village who was imprisoned for involvement with the PLO, who eventually left the country to become a Doctor of Law in the UK and now lives in Exeter where she is Vice Chair of Exeter Respect Steering Group!
Introduced by Suaad George, followed by discussion.
